What's Up?

Each week we will highlight an activity of our ministry – maybe a meeting, Bible study, social event, mission event, etc. With this spot we hope to keep you better informed as to “what’s up” in our mission and ministry! Let us know how it’s working or if you have any ideas!

HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR WEEK IN MINISTRY

8/31/2015

+We celebrated the baptism of Chad Hill Sunday afternoon in the waters of the South River! We join with the angels in praising the Lord for a new brother in Christ!

+On Wednesday, Pastor Tim participated in the opening of the new school year at Fishburne Military School and the Dedication of the Blue Star Memorial Marker by offering the invocation and benediction. We join in lifting up Fishburne, the cadets and staff as they embark in a new academic year!

+ We continue to celebrate the faith expressions of our confirmands, leading up to Confirmation Sunday on September 20th! Please keep in prayer: Joshua Draper, Andrew Godfrey, Jordan Schulz and Shelby Slayton as they prepare to be confirmed in their faith!

+ Praise God for our Social Outreach Ministry and the Fund we are able to use to help those in need! This week we were able to help one of our families who is on hard times right now and in danger of being evicted. Thanks to this ministry they will be able to stay in their home!

+ Classes in our ECEC for our Kindergarten and 1st grade began; we have eight students this year – the Lord is growing this ministry! We welcome Jamie Wilkinson as our new teacher to this classroom.

+ Our Finance Team met this week with a positive report concerning how we are responding in our financial resources: each year over the last ten years we have seen an increase in our giving to the Lord, with a 19 & 20% increase each of the last two years! For our expenses, we are right in line with our Spending Plan – for both of these blessings we rejoice and give thanks!

+ Our Servant Leadership Council also met this week; a highlight of our meeting was to unanimously contract with “Building God’s Way” in employing a Capital Campaign for our relocation in early of 2016! We also received an update on the purchase of the 3 acres for our cemetery at Trinity, along with updates from our various Ministry Teams.

+ Our Wednesday In The Word ministry met at Paneras for fellowship and good food. Plans are underway to begin meeting regularly in September – more information to follow in the coming weeks!

+Both the ECEC Ministry Team and the ECEC Business Plan Team met this last week with good results coming from both! We continue to see our ECEC ministry grow and expand and are excited about implementing new ways in promoting the Lord’s work among us!
