+ …that our Property Management Ministry Team continues to keep our property in the good shape it is and all the equipment running? (What a blessing that is for all of us!) + …that just keeping the lights working is a job in itself, plus all repairs, new fixtures, landscaping, school repairs, accounting of the keys, inspecting the fire extinguishers monthly, tending to the furnace and AC, the roof, etc, etc, etc? +…that George Coyner, Harold Kitzmann and Phil Knowles are the Trinity Team which oversees that property for us? Thanks to them! +…that Jim Baker, George Coyner and Phil Bryan tend to the Cemetery for us? We are grateful! +…that we are looking for volunteers for this Ministry? +That the Servant-Leadership Council (SLC) meets quarterly or as needed – we end up meeting usually every-other month… +That our current officers are: President - Don Klingemann Vice President -Amy Draper Secretary - Lori Sitzberger Treasurer - Kathy Denney Members at Large – George Coyner & Jeff Wimer + That the Ministry Teams exist to accomplish the Mission and Ministry Plan of Bethany Lutheran Church & ECEC? + That the Ministry Teams are divided under the following descriptions of our congregational work: Gathering: in worship and fellowship; Growing: in faith and discipleship; Going: into the world with Jesus. + That the Voters Assembly meets at least once a year, plus as many times as needed? + That our annual, regular Voters Assembly meeting is today, June 14, at 2:00 pm? + That your presence is needed and encouraged to attend this meeting? + That Bethany’s Mission, Ministry and Spending Plan for next year is to be voted upon? + That other issues on the agenda will be: - Approval for purchasing 3 additional acres adjacent and north of Trinity property; - Election of Officers; - Financial Management Team update; - Site Development update; and ECEC update. +That the Constitution we operate under is called “Policy Based Governance” +That it has its roots in God’s Word which authorizes the procedures of rule and order +That, also as other congregations of our church body, the Voters Assembly of the congregation is given the primary authority to govern and direct the congregation's mission. + That the Servant-Leadership Council (SLC) is the governing body of the congregation and is responsible to administer all the congregation’s affairs except for several important actions + That the Senior Pastor is authorized by the Constitution and is accountable to the Congregation through the SLC to organize and oversee all Ministry Teams in the congregation + That each Ministry Team is asked to initiate its own “Policy & Procedure Manual” that is unique to that particular ministry – this is a fluid process since a Ministry Team can change its own Manual to fit its mission DID YOU KNOW?
+ that Bethany also has a Site Ministry Prayer Team? + that this team prays so that the Site Ministry is covered in prayer every day by someone different + that someone is also walking (and prayer for) around both the Maple Street as well as the Goose Creek properties as weather permits? + that the Team’s prayer goals are: 1. for God to provide a buyer for the Maple Street property? 2. to keep the Maple Street property safe and protect it against any problems that could come up structurally? 3. to bring in people who will be willing to support both financially and spiritually the new building? 4. for no divisiveness in the congregation concerning our move? 5. for God to work in the hearts of the members to prepare for sacrificial giving in our upcoming Building Campaign? + that there is fasting happening on days of important/pivotal decisions? + Please feel invited to join with this Team in what they are doing! |
