+ that prayer is an important part of our Christian living and of our relationship with God Himself? + that as God’s people made acceptable directly to Him through our Lord and Savior, Jesus, we can bring to Him our thanks and praises every day? + that because of God’s great love, grace and mercy we can also come to Him personally and present all our petitions and intercessions for others? + that we are greatly blessed to be our God’s prayer people and to have His Prayer Ministry in our midst? DID YOU KNOW?
+that the St. James Prayer Group is named after St. James, the Apostle, the brother of Jesus? +that St. James was also known as James the Just because of his extraordinary godliness, his obedience to the Law of God and his “devotion to prayer”? +that it was said of St. James that his knees became so calloused from kneeling that they were like the knees of a camel? +that St. James is an exceptional example for us in being prayer-partners also? +that we have a prayer group of members who meet each Thursday at 7:30 am? +that they are called the St. James Prayer Group? +that this group is not exclusive and that anyone interested in joining in prayer is welcome? (please talk to Pastor Tim first!) +that this group was started like St. James, on the knees, about 18 years ago? +that it was started for the purpose of praying for our Pastor, the individual needs of the people of the congregation and for the needs of the church body? +that the prayer Ministry of Bethany includes all members of the Congregation, not just the members of any prayer team? + that we have 3 specific prayer ministries, besides each one of your individual prayers: …A Thursday morning prayer team that anyone is invited to – 7:30 a.m. …A Site Development prayer team that anyone is invited to be a part of; please contact Stacy Reeder for more information …A Prayer Tree ministry that prays for specific prayer needs as they arise; please contact Shirley Chase for more information + that God asks all of us to pray, and to pray for one another individually as well as for the Bethany family, and as well as for all others? + that prayer is one of the most important sanctified actions of any Christian? + that St James tells, “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” + that we are God’s righteous people because of Jesus, our Savior, and thus our prayers are powerful and effective!
