Bethany's Social Outreach Ministry has participated in the Waynesboro-East Augusta CROP walk for over 25 years.
This CROP walk is the second largest CROP walk in the state.
25% of the proceeds directly benefit local food delivery agencies in Waynesboro East Augusta.
These agencies include Home Bound Meals, Disciples Kitchen, Food Bank, Salvation Army, Senior Center and Daily Living Day Care.
Our Social Outreach Ministry coordinates Home Bound Meal delivery together with
the Waynesboro Senior Center.
Participating during the months of February and June, approximately 900 meals are
delivered on these routes.
Social Outreach Ministry also coordinates the Angel Tree families whose names are
sent to us by the Salvation Army.
This past Christmas season we gave:
-over $800 in food gift cards to 5 families and
-Christmas gifts to 4 families.
Bethany’s “Social Outreach Ministry” participates in many local needs.
Last year our congregation via our “Social Outreach Ministry” assisted with almost
$1,000 for various emergency needs. This included:
-Individual needs with over $700 towards rent, utilities and emergency
-providing Hardees meal cards, gas, groceries and prescription payments
as emergencies arose.
Our Social Outreach Ministry is funded by a “Social Outreach Endowment Fund”, our Spending Plan, Thrivent Financial and generous gifts through you.
This ministry is led by Anita Bryan and her many other faithful “social outreach ministers.”
